BREEAM key meetings
BREEAM UK New Construction, Non-domestic Buildings (United Kingdom), Technical Manual, SD5078: BREEAM UK New Construction 2018 3.0, published by BRE Global Limited, suggests that for the purposes of BREEAM, key meetings are defined as:
‘…those where fundamental decisions that influence or affect the building’s proposed design and its construction are discussed and made. These decisions are also expected to have a direct and significant impact on the building’s sustainability credentials and performance. These meetings might include:
- Representatives of the client or developer.
- The principal contractor.
- The architect.
- Structural engineers.
- Building services engineers.
- Cost consultants.
- Environmental consultants.
- Project management consultants.
- Access and inclusive design consultant.
Depending on the project stage and the procurement route or ownership, other relevant parties might be consulted. This could include the developer, the asset manager and leasing agent.’
